I was gathering shoes together for the upcoming sale, when I realized the hook & loop (“Velcro”) straps in quite a few of them looked terrible while the rest of the shoe still had lots of life in them.
Then I got a brilliant idea- what if I used a wire brush to remove the threads and other things that were stuck in the Velcro? I started in a down-ward motion with the brush and then once the threads and gunk started to come loose, I could pull them out. For the more stubborn hanger-oners, I used the brush in a circular motion and they came right off!
Now I just need to wash them and they are ready for the sale!
